The Washington & Orange Counties Central Labor Council, AFL-CIO, is the central body of labor organizations in north-central Vermont. United, we are a voice for the interests and needs of working people in Vermont. We are affiliated with the national AFL-CIO, the central labor organization in the United States, representing more than 13 million working people. We are also affiliated with the Vermont State Labor Council, the central labor body in our state. Together, we are the single largest member-based organization in the nation.

The core responsibilities of the Washington & Orange Counties Central Labor Council are to:

Our Labor Council generally meets the last Thursday of every month.

Each Council-affiliated organization elects delegates to the Labor Council as representatives of their union, giving their union's members a voice within the Council. Delegates are an important source of information for their locals concerning Council activities. Worker-supportive religious and community based organizations are more than welcome to participate in Council functions.

The President is the principal officer and volunteer staff person of the Council. Our current Executive Board is:
